Preface
I wrote this article as the entry of Nostr Advent Calendar 2024 on December 16th.
Proposed new message types about obtaining the latest follow and follower list
Nostr protocol will soon need searching methods to obtain specific events or other data as quickly as possible to deal with the increase in the user base and number of requests to relays.
Today, only the “REQ” message performs the role of relays responding to event requests. However, a small set of single-function querying messages will be beneficial in establishing a simple and comprehensive guideline for relay developers to implement fast searching functions flawlessly.
I have pulled-requested my proposal to NIPs.
My proposal includes simple patterns about two messages, “FOLLOWS” and “FOLLOWERS,” NIP-0A Discrete query messages - “FOLLOWS” and “FOLLOWERS”
There is no response today. Or I don’t know if someone will give some response to this pull request.
Maybe it looks as if some random crazy person pull-requested a stupid idea, probably, I don’t know.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing what happens to my proposal and seek the possibility of using this approach to scale the Nostr network much larger.
